SUMMARY — A study of the mean atmospheric divergence of enthalpy fields on a planetary scale for the Southern Hemisphere during the IGY covering the calendar year 1958 is presented. The fields of divergence of enthalpy inte- grated along the vertical for yearly and seasonal conditions for the entire hemis- phere are analysed and discussed.
